Larson Tax Partners, LLC is currently seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Operations to join our dynamic team. As the Director of Operations, you will oversee the daily operations of the tax firm, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery to clients. You will develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance productivity and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Managing the firm's operational budget, including forecasting, expense control, and financial reporting, will be a critical part of your responsibilities. You will collaborate with senior management to set strategic goals and objectives and monitor progress towards achieving them. In this role, you will lead and supervise operational staff, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations to foster a high-performing team environment. Ensuring that the firm's technology infrastructure supports tax preparation, filing, and client service requirements effectively will also be part of your duties. You will coordinate with the IT department to manage and optimize tax software and other operational systems, as well as work with the HR department to recruit, onboard, and retain skilled operational personnel. Fostering strong relationships with vendors, service providers, and external partners to negotiate contracts and secure favorable terms will be essential. You will oversee client data management processes, ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance with data protection laws. Addressing and resolving complex operational issues and client concerns promptly and professionally will be a key aspect of your role. Additionally, you will analyze operational metrics and data to assess performance and identify areas for improvement, ensuring continuous improvement of operational processes through regular review and adaptation to changing tax laws and industry standards. Representing the firm at professional events, conferences, and networking opportunities will also be part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a managerial role within a tax or accounting firm.
  • Proven track record of operational leadership and management skills.
  • Experience in strategic planning and business development.
  • Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations desirable.
  • Familiarity with tax software and advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and accountability.
  • Experience in budget management and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of HR practices, and ability to collaborate with the HR Department in hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
