About the position
The Tax Data Governance Analyst position at Goldman Sachs involves supporting the firm's tax operations, compliance, and reporting obligations. The role focuses on designing and implementing data models within the Tax division, ensuring high data quality and facilitating the adoption of the firm's Data Governance Framework. This position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented and possess strong ethical standards, contributing directly to the firm's success.
Responsibilities
- Analyzing and translating business requirements into long-term solution data models.
- Evaluating existing data systems to create a Global Tax data model for the Tax division.
- Applying the data governance framework to ensure high data quality and trustworthy data pipelines.
- Working closely with business partners and technology leaders to identify data quality improvement areas.
- Building automation and workflows to address data control gaps.
- Implementing data strategies and converting logical models into physical data models.
- Facilitating resolution of data quality issues across business and technology stakeholders.
- Collaborating with data and analytics experts to enhance data system functionality.
- Coordinating with Tax engineers on development, testing, and production.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
- 0-3 years of experience in data analysis or related fields.
- Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C, Scala, or C++.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL.
- Experience with visualization tools like Tableau is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with various stakeholders.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong sense of ownership and drive to manage tasks to completion.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with databases such as Oracle, Sybase IQ, Snowflake, or Hadoop.
- Experience with Alteryx.
