About the position

Our client is looking for a seasoned Tax Manager to join their team. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing tax consulting and compliance projects, all while building and maintaining strong relationships with clients. You'll also work closely with different practice groups, providing tailored industry expertise to clients in various sectors, especially the automotive industry. As a Tax Manager, you will cultivate and sustain solid relationships with clients by leading tax-related engagements. You will oversee the workflow of engagements, allocate resources efficiently, and manage billing cycles, ensuring profitability for each project. Collaboration with other departments will be key, as you will offer clients in-depth insights into tax-related issues across multiple industries. You will review and approve tax returns prepared by staff, identifying opportunities for clients to save on taxes. Conducting thorough research and providing analysis on diverse tax matters will be part of your responsibilities, advising clients accordingly. You will also lead and mentor your team, fostering career development and motivation. Acting as a representative of the firm at professional events, networking opportunities, and community functions will be expected. Additionally, you will contribute to internal growth initiatives that focus on firm culture, technical development, and innovation. Staying informed on evolving tax laws and advising clients on how to best navigate these changes to meet their needs will be crucial to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • CPA, J.D., LL.M., or a Master's in Taxation.
  • At least five years of tax-focused public accounting experience.
  • Proven ability to build and nurture client relationships.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry is a must.
  • Strong leadership and mentorship abilities with excellent communication skills.
  • Expertise in tax research, analysis, and proficiency with accounting and tax software.
