Mark Ringel LLC is seeking a dedicated Tax Supervisor or Manager to join our team in Las Vegas, NV. This position is crucial as our firm is at a pivotal point where we need additional support to manage our growing client base effectively. The ideal candidate will not only possess a strong understanding of tax but also excel in interpersonal relationships and demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit. We are looking for someone who is willing to be involved in all aspects of the business, contributing to its growth and potentially facilitating a smooth transition for my eventual exit from the firm. At Mark Ringel LLC, we pride ourselves on developing strong relationships with our clients and becoming their trusted advisors. We expect our team to work hard, but we also believe in maintaining a healthy work-life balance. During tax season, we offer the flexibility of working from home on Fridays, and outside of tax season, our hours are from 10 AM to 5 PM, with the same remote work option on Fridays. We value professionalism and timely delivery of work, and while we do not mandate overtime, we expect our team to manage their time effectively to meet deadlines. The responsibilities of this role include reviewing business and personal tax returns prepared by staff and remote accountants, ensuring compliance with current tax laws, and preparing client tax returns. The Tax Manager will also oversee, train, and mentor other professionals, manage client meetings regarding tax planning and preparation, and respond to clients' correspondence with tax authorities. Additionally, the role involves contributing to business development activities to help the firm grow.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing business and personal returns of Staff and Remote Accountants and ensuring accuracy, compliance with current tax laws and timely filing.
  • Preparing client tax returns.
  • Overseeing, training, and mentoring other professionals.
  • Managing and participating in client meetings on tax planning and preparation matters.
  • Reviewing and responding to clients' tax authority correspondence.
  • Helping the company grow through Business Development activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in tax preparation review and research.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Dedicated to providing and maintaining customer-focused service with the highest ethical and professional standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with tax research databases and tax compliance software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Proficiency in Adobe.
