About the position

The Tax Manager (CPA) position at FlexStaff involves overseeing the company's tax compliance, planning, and accounting for income taxes. This permanent, onsite role is crucial for managing tax-related issues for a leading consumer goods company, particularly focusing on high-net-worth individuals and closely held entities.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for completion of federal and state income tax returns including all related analysis and support
  • Conduct tax planning
  • Liaison with operating management on tax issues and accounting staff on tax accounting issues
  • Ensuring that appropriate internal controls are in place over accounting for income taxes
  • Manage, develop, train and mentor staff on tax projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Master's degree in taxation preferred
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
  • Knowledge of S Corp returns
  • Experience with corporate and individual tax returns
  • Must be current with tax legislation
  • Research skills in corporate, individual, and state taxes
  • Compliance experience preferred
  • Audit experience preferred but not required
  • Seven or more years of related tax consulting experience
  • Experience with Partnership and Trust returns
  • Estate and Gift Tax returns preferred
