About the position

The Tax Manager (CPA) position at FlexStaff involves overseeing the tax compliance, planning, and accounting for income taxes for a leading consumer goods company. This permanent, onsite role requires expertise in managing tax issues for high-net-worth individuals and closely held entities, ensuring compliance with current tax legislation, and mentoring staff in tax-related projects.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for completion of federal and state income tax returns including all related analysis and support
• Conduct tax planning
• Liaison with operating management on tax issues and accounting staff on tax accounting issues
• Ensuring that appropriate internal controls are in place over accounting for income taxes
• Manage, develop, train and mentor staff on tax projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting. Master's degree in taxation preferred
• CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
• Knowledge of S Corp returns
• Experience with corporate and individual tax returns
• Must be current with tax legislation
• Research skills in corporate, individual, and state taxes
• Compliance experience preferred
• Audit experience preferred but not required
• Seven or more years of related tax consulting experience
• Experience with Partnership and Trust returns
• Estate and Gift Tax returns preferred
