About the position

As a Manager in EY's Wealth & Asset Management practice, you will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating tax compliance and advisory work for clients in the financial services industry. This position focuses on implementing tax strategies that align with clients' business objectives, particularly in hedge funds and private equity funds. You will leverage your expertise to review extensive securities analysis, manage tax compliance accounts, and ensure the delivery of accurate tax returns and compliance documents.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate tax compliance and advisory work for clients in the Wealth & Asset Management practice.
  • Work on key client issues in domestic federal, international, and state and local taxation.
  • Implement tax strategies that align with clients' business objectives.
  • Manage tax compliance accounts for hedge funds and private equity funds.
  • Review extensive securities analysis and make appropriate tax adjustments.
  • Provide sign-off for the production and delivery of K-1's and partnership tax returns.
  • Review partnership agreements and private placement memorandums for tax implications.
  • Run day-to-day activities on accounts spread across various locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience, or an advanced degree in tax or law with a minimum of 4 years of related work experience.
  • CPA license or a licensed Attorney is required or the ability to achieve either within one year from hire date.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant tax experience or equivalent experience in the financial services industry.
  • Familiarity with the financial services industry gained through direct involvement with managed investment vehicles.
  • Broad exposure to federal income taxation and exposure to state and local tax.
