About the position

Specialized Recruiting Group has partnered with an independent, private Oil & Gas firm in the Denver Tech Center to search for a Sr. Accountant/Tax Manager to join their established and tenured team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in handling complex accounting tasks, including tax partnerships and allocations for various entities and individuals. Responsibilities

• Handle a significant volume of allocations amongst partners; expertise in tax partnerships and allocations is crucial
• Work with Special Purpose Entities (SPEs), Individuals, Trusts, Organizations, and Properties, managing the complexities of partnerships and individual partners
• Act as the point person for the relationship with the CPA, reviewing tax returns and assisting in preparing work papers
• Work closely with the outside CPA on quarterly and annual Federal and state tax reporting for numerous entities
• Perform comprehensive daily, monthly, and annual accounting and reporting for numerous entities and individuals, including journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations
• Update and manage Excel reports for monthly management reporting, ensuring timely and accurate data
• Engage in special projects as needed, as well as ad-hoc projects, ensuring timely updates and accuracy
• Prepare detailed year-end work papers for tax preparation
• Prepare monthly management reports, including cash flow statements and asset allocation reports
• Learn and use Bolo/Excalibur software for accounting tasks

Requirements

• 5-10+ years' experience; Public Accounting and Tax experience - Required
• CPA or MS in Accounting - Required
• Experience with tax partnerships and allocations - Required
• Oil & Gas industry experience is highly preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, V-lookups), Word, and Outlook
• Excellent and clear communication skills
