About the position

The Tax Manager/Senior Manager position at a CPA firm focuses on providing tax compliance, advisory, and provision services specifically for non-profit organizations, including health-care institutions and higher education. This role involves managing a team, developing client relationships, and contributing to the growth of the practice through marketing and business development efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage tax compliance, tax provision, and tax advisory services to health-care institutions, higher education institutions, private foundations, and exempt organizations.
  • Assist in managing, developing, and coaching professional tax staff.
  • Help develop, build, and manage client relationships.
  • Participate and actively grow the practice through external marketing and business development activities.
  • Provide timely and outstanding client service exceeding client expectations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years related experience in public accounting focusing on health-care, higher education, and exempt organization tax.
  • CPA certification is required.
  • In-depth experience in managing the preparation of Form 990, Form 990-T, and Form 990-PF.
  • Experience with excess benefit transactions, private inurement, unrelated business income tax, alternative investment reporting (federal, foreign, state), and affordable care act issues (501(r)).
  • Experience managing multiple client engagements.
