About the position

As a Manager in the Tax service line at HCVT, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the preparation and review of federal and multi-state income tax returns for various entities, including individuals and corporations. This position emphasizes client interaction, tax planning, and team leadership, ensuring high-quality work and effective communication between partners and staff. You will also be involved in firm administrative functions and initiatives, contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide top-level review of federal and multi-state income tax returns for individuals, flow-through entities, corporations, and trusts.
  • Work closely with clients to advise on income tax issues and related tax planning.
  • Oversee planning and scheduling of engagements and work flow supervision.
  • Research complex technical tax issues and provide solutions.
  • Lead and train teams of seniors and staff accountants throughout the engagement.
  • Ensure quality of work product and communicate progress to partners.
  • Act as the liaison between partners and staff, coaching and mentoring team members.
  • Involved in performance evaluations and firm administrative functions such as client billings.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree; Master's degree a plus.
  • CPA certificate.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in the taxation of partnerships, limited liability companies, and high net-worth individuals.
  • Strong organizational and management skills.
  • Excellent written, oral communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to identify and propose resolutions to complex income tax issues.
  • Demonstrated advanced project management skills.
  • Ability to utilize firm technology to enhance client service.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Strong team player with emphasis on the continued growth and development of team members.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; working knowledge of GoSystem a plus.
