The Tax Onboarding Specialist will be responsible for client onboarding, collecting necessary documents, client follow up, internal workflow, and preparing and reviewing a variety of complex tax returns for individuals and businesses. This position requires knowledge of tax laws and regulations, excellent communication skills, strong excel skills, and a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities

  • Client onboarding and collecting necessary documents.
  • Client follow up and internal workflow management.
  • Preparing and reviewing a variety of complex tax returns for individuals and businesses.
  • Engaging effectively with high-value clients to optimize their account setups.
  • Leading and supporting a team in tax tasks.
  • Onboarding companies to a ready state for tax preparation.
  • Communicating intricate tax and accounting data to clients.
  • Driving continuous improvement in Uplinq's automated bookkeeping and tax systems.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in tax preparation, with a preference for those with multi-client experience.
  • Expertise in reviewing financial statements and tax filings.
  • Possesses an active EA or CPA certification.
  • Must have QBO and Drake experience.
  • Proficient with Windows operating system and can adopt new software easily.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or related fields.
  • Robust problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in handling complex workflows and projects efficiently.
