About the position

Cohen & Company is seeking a Tax Partner with a focus on Private Funds to join their team. This role emphasizes an entrepreneurial spirit and a commitment to client service, providing tax compliance and advisory services to private funds and their advisers. The position involves high-touch client service supported by a robust compliance and operational infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for strategy and growth of the firm's services to Private Funds, including identifying market trends and developing go-to-market strategies.
• Build strong relationships with clients and internal partners, coordinating to align skills with market trends.
• Establish sales and revenue goals, actively managing a strategic business plan and opportunity pipeline.
• Serve and build relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor to ensure premium service and quality work.
• Develop a comprehensive approach to meet the needs of Private Funds clients, focusing on scaling the practice.
• Provide mentoring and motivation to the team, developing young leaders through training and development.
• Perform partner level tax advisory, compliance review, and tax return signoff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree; CPA or JD required.
• 12+ years of progressive experience within tax, preferably in a public accounting firm, including leadership experience.
• 3+ years of Partner level or equivalent experience.
• Proven thought leadership and advanced technical skills in tax for investment partnerships, including various investment strategies.
