The Tax Preparer position is a commission-based contract role focused on independent tax preparation for clients. The role offers unlimited earning potential based on the number of tax returns completed, with training provided by the firm.
Responsibilities
- Independently source and manage your own clients
- Prepare tax returns accurately and efficiently using firm-approved software
- Communicate with clients regarding tax documents, deadlines, and any necessary follow-ups
- Stay updated with tax laws and regulations for the 2024 tax year
- Complete mandatory training days (training provided by the firm)
Requirements
- Must have a 2024 PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number) from the IRS
- Laptop or desktop computer with reliable internet access
- Must be self-motivated, driven, and capable of working independently
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and maintain quality of work
- Ability to commit to training sessions prior to tax season
Nice-to-haves
- Previous tax preparation experience is preferred but not required
