About the position

Our CPA firm is seeking a CPA, Enrolled Agent, or Tax Preparer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the accounting and tax field, with responsibilities including the preparation of various tax returns and involvement in accounting projects throughout the year. The role offers a flexible work schedule to promote work-life balance, especially during peak tax seasons.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual, partnership, S-corporation, and trust tax returns.
• Work with clients to reconcile their balance sheets during the tax preparation process.
• Manage fixed assets and depreciation, and reconcile equity accounts.
• Oversee the tax process from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding outstanding questions and tax planning opportunities.
• Ensure final journal entries are posted and reconciled into the client's accounting system.

Requirements

• Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Accounting preferred.
• CPA or Enrolled Agent preferred.
• One year or more of tax experience is required.
• UltraTax experience is a plus.
• QuickBooks experience is a plus.
• Ability to work a minimum of 40+ hours during the busy season (January - April and August - October) preferred.
