The Tax Preparer position is a flexible, remote role based in Kissimmee, FL, offering opportunities for both part-time and full-time work. This contract opportunity allows individuals to manage their own tax preparation business, providing services to clients while leveraging their tax expertise. The role emphasizes client relationship building and the ability to work independently, with a focus on assisting clients through the tax preparation process.

Responsibilities

• Assisting clients on the tax preparation process
• Collecting relevant financial records, including pay stubs and income statements
• Inputting data from financial records into tax return software or databases
• Using applicable federal, state and local tax law to determine deductions and how much each client will pay or earn on the return
• Completing and filing tax documents with appropriate agencies, like the IRS, state and local government entities
• Acting as a representative for clients with applicable agencies as required
• Building customer relationships to promote and expand the business

Requirements

• At least 1 year of tax experience
• Possession of a PTIN or ability to obtain one
• Clientele or the ability to obtain clients
• Bilingual skills are encouraged
• Experience processing returns with or without a PTIN is a plus
