About the position
Robert Half is seeking an experienced Seasonal Tax Preparer to join a leading accounting firm. This role involves preparing various tax returns and providing tax-related advice to clients during the busy tax season from January to April. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Drake and UltraTax software and capable of managing multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Prepare individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns accurately and efficiently using Drake and UltraTax software.
- Research and interpret tax regulations to ensure compliance.
- Interview clients to get a thorough picture of financial situation and identify potential deductions and credits.
- Advise clients on tax preparation strategies.
- Assist with tax planning and tax research.
- Resolve customer inquiries that are related to the tax return process.
- Review completed tax forms and provide recommendations as required.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of experience in tax preparation including experience with Drake and/or UltraTax software.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) license is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of tax laws/regulations and filing requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to explain complex tax information in a clear and concise manner.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.).
- Excellent multi-tasking abilities, time management skills, and attention to detail.
