About the position

We are seeking a full-time Tax Preparer to join our boutique Tax and Accounting Firm located in Orange County. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two to three years of tax preparation experience, including the preparation of various tax returns and year-end projections. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Corporate, Partnership, LLC, Trust, and Individual tax returns.
• Conduct year-end projections for clients.
• Familiarize with accounting and bookkeeping procedures.
• Utilize tax software such as Drake and IRS Logics, with QuickBooks/QB Online experience being a plus.
• Work independently on tax returns from start to finish, including scanning tax documents and obtaining missing information.
• Analyze and determine necessary information for tax returns based on company processes.
• Communicate effectively with business/account managers and clients via email and calls.
• Organize and manage multiple tax returns during the busy season.
• Assist clients with tax payments and state/other filings.

Requirements

• Minimum of two to three years of tax preparation experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Tax Preparation Certification, Enrolled Agent, or CPA license required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with QuickBooks/QB Online.
• Ability to work overtime during the busy season.
