Goldman Haque is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Preparer to join their CPA firm, which specializes in small businesses, real estate, construction, and payroll tax compliance. The role involves preparing and filing federal and state tax returns, advising clients on tax strategies, and ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and organizational skills, with a focus on client service and financial accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals and small businesses.
• Review and analyze financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and review payroll tax forms such as 941 and NYS-45.
• Manage sales tax filings and compliance for various businesses.
• Advise clients on tax-saving strategies, deductions, and credits.
• Stay current with tax laws and payroll regulations.
• Use accounting software to streamline tax preparation processes.
• Communicate effectively with clients to gather documentation and address inquiries.
• Ensure confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive client data.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in tax accounting.
• Proficiency in tax and accounting software, including Lacerte and QuickBooks.
• Deep understanding of federal and state tax regulations, especially in real estate and construction.
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax compliance, including 941 and NYS-45 forms.
• Familiarity with sales tax requirements and reporting.
• Excellent analytical skills for interpreting financial data.
• Outstanding client service and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
