We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our team at 1st United Tax & Accounting Services. The ideal candidate will assist clients with their tax preparation needs, ensuring compliance with tax regulations while providing exceptional customer service. This role requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in accounting software, particularly Drake, to effectively prepare and file tax returns for individuals and businesses.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Analyze financial data and documents to ensure accuracy in tax filings.
• Provide guidance on tax-related inquiries and educate clients on financial concepts.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with clients to gather necessary documentation for tax preparation.
• Review previous tax returns for accuracy and identify potential deductions or credits.
• Utilize accounting software to streamline the preparation process.
• Assist in corporate accounting tasks as needed, including bookkeeping and account reconciliation.

Requirements

• Previous experience in public accounting or as a tax preparer is preferred.
• Familiarity with accounting software, particularly Sage, is highly desirable.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
• Knowledge of corporate accounting practices is a plus.
• Ability to analyze financial statements and market trends effectively.
