About the position
The Tax Processing Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the Head of Processing at a busy wealth management and tax business during the tax season. This full-time seasonal position is essential for maintaining organization and ensuring a smooth client experience as the firm processes tax returns from January 27th to April 16th. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills to assist in various tasks related to tax return processing.
Responsibilities
- Collating completed tax returns
- Scanning all original documents provided by clients
- Returning tax returns and tax documents to clients according to client preference
- Tracking which clients have and have not returned necessary paperwork
- Following up with clients regarding missing paperwork
- Contacting clients for payment as directed
- Updating statuses and payments on the tax software
Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to manage a fast-paced but repetitive task load
- Extremely detail-oriented with strong time management and organizational skills
- Adaptable, able to manage multiple tasks and willing to assist other team members when necessary
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage and track high volumes of tax files
Nice-to-haves
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
- 1 year of office experience (Preferred)
