About the position

The Tax Senior Associate position at CBIZ Accounting Tax and Advisory of New York LLC involves managing and executing various accounting, tax, and audit engagements for a diverse range of clients. The role requires a strong understanding of client businesses, adherence to quality control standards, and the ability to mentor and supervise junior associates. This position is integral to maintaining high-quality service and supporting the firm's growth in the accounting and advisory sector.

Responsibilities

• Complete all aspects of accounting, tax and audit engagements for clients, including status updates to engagement managers.
• Demonstrate understanding of the client's business, including analysis and planning of client engagements.
• Adhere to engagement budget constraints and complete assigned tasks within the requested time, explaining variances when needed.
• Achieve charge hour goals.
• Review associates' accounting, tax or auditing work and provide constructive feedback.
• May supervise associates on engagements.
• Train and mentor associate staff.
• May assist Managers or Directors in the client billing process.
• Identify and begin to develop knowledge in selected specialty practice areas.
• Leverage industry knowledge and business acumen to blend cross-serve opportunities into client engagements.
• Participate in practice development activities, such as membership in qualified organizations capable of referring potential engagements.
• Execute administrative duties as assigned.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Associates Degree in Accounting or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, tax, or audit engagements.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
