About the position

Cohen & Company is seeking a Tax Senior Manager or Managing Director with expertise in REITs, Private Equity Real Estate Funds, and Private Developers. This role focuses on business development, client experience, leadership, and technical tax advisory services, aiming to enhance the firm's REIT services and ensure high-quality client service.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for strategy and growth of the firm's REIT services, including identifying market trends and developing go-to-market strategies.
• Build strong relationships with clients, internal partners, and industry leaders to drive strategic technical leadership hires.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring premium service and quality work.
• Develop a comprehensive approach to meet the needs of REIT clients, focusing on structuring and compliance.
• Work with private equity real estate funds on entity structure and tax issues.
• Provide mentorship and motivation to team members, fostering young leaders through training and development.
• Perform tax advisory, compliance review, and tax return signoff at a senior level.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree; CPA or JD required.
• 10+ years of progressive experience within tax, preferably in a public accounting firm.
• Leadership experience with a consistent record of accomplishment and accountability.
