About the position

The Tax Specialist at Quantum Servicing is responsible for the day-to-day administration of tax-related servicing tasks within the mortgage industry. This role involves managing collateral verification, monitoring tax statuses, and ensuring accurate documentation and communication with taxing authorities. The position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify collateral associated with assigned loans.
• Ensure all parcels are accurately identified in the system.
• Interface with various Taxing Authority entities to obtain the status of taxes on collateral.
• Save applicable tax documents to the system of record.
• Maintain system notes, follow-up dates, and required reporting information.
• Obtain tax receipts and ensure taxing authorities appropriately applied all tax payments.
• Order and review Title and Owner and Encumbrance documents.
• Identify issues related to lien position, tax status, property owner, etc.
• Compile reports summarizing findings and notify respective parties.
• Work with Quantum and Rialto staff to answer tax-related inquiries.
• Assist with various projects as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma from a US accredited institution required.
• 2 years prior Tax experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with all organizational levels.
• Team-oriented and collaborative work style.
• Proficient with Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Proficient with Excel using formulas and pivot tables.

Nice-to-haves

• Associate degree preferred.
• Business management or real estate concentration a plus.
