About the position

The Tax Specialist at FANUC America Corporation is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely tax filings in compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves assisting management in implementing processes for precise financial data related to various tax requirements, including sales tax reporting and compliance with international, federal, state, and local tax regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review all corporate tax planning and compliance matters, including international, federal, state, and local taxes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of corporate foreign, federal, and state corporate income tax returns.
  • Prepare and remit all federal and foreign income tax payments, including extensions and estimates.
  • Document, implement, and account for all income tax processes in accordance with JSOX controls.
  • Participate in special projects related to income tax issues and provision calculations.
  • Support all aspects of the income tax accounting and controls process, including ASC 740 analysis.
  • Incorporate law changes into the tax provision model for accurate tax provision calculations.
  • Support and coordinate federal and state tax audits and research relevant tax laws.
  • Provide tax guidance to other areas of the company, including personal property and payroll reporting.
  • Recommend tax strategies that align with business goals and assist in tax payment forecasting.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or applicable field of study required.
  • 5+ years of corporate income tax experience, ideally in public accounting and large publicly traded multinational/multistate corporations.
  • Experience filing GILTI, FDII, Foreign information reporting (Forms 5471, 8865, 8858), FTC, and CbCR.
  • Understanding and experience with FAS 109/ASC 740; domestic and international issues.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Understanding of foreign exchange and currency exchange rates.
  • Proven analytical thinking skills for data analysis and problem resolution.
  • Knowledge of public accounting, U.S. tax systems, and tax compliance law.
  • Ability to learn and work with various financial and operating systems.
