About the position

The Tax Technology and Transformation Manager will play a crucial role in supporting cross-functional projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing process efficiencies and delivering innovative technology solutions within the Corporate Tax Department. This individual contributor position requires a blend of technical tax knowledge, accounting expertise, and process/technology skills to drive improvements and transformation initiatives that impact tax operations. The role involves collaboration with various teams, particularly in relation to the upgrade of MassMutual's ERP system to SAP S/4HANA, and encompasses both domestic and international tax considerations.

Responsibilities

• Support cross-functional tax projects and initiatives, including ledger system upgrade (S/4HANA).
• Proactively identify opportunities and drive process improvements across Corporate Tax.
• Identify opportunities to increase automation and enhance digital analytics and data quality.
• Support initiatives to build out modeling capabilities for tax impacts of forecasts and new legislation.
• Manage tax transformation projects to ensure timelines and objectives are met.
• Gain knowledge of the business and understand tax positions and their implications on data and processes.
• Support maintenance of tax-basis ledger and tax data structures.
• Provide guidance, support, and training to tax team members on technology and transformation matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Tax, or Management Information Systems.
• 7+ years of tax accounting experience (public accounting or large company).
• 2+ years of experience with tax provision and compliance software such as CorpTax.

Nice-to-haves

• CPA or MST highly desirable.
• Experience with ERPs such as SAP and ERP system implementations.
• Strong understanding of tax systems, data flow, and interfaces.
• Experience with emerging technology solutions (Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
• Experience with both domestic and international provision and compliance tools.
