About the position
The Fabric Hand Cutter position at Arhaus Upholstery involves preparing material for sewing by marking and cutting fabric according to specified patterns. This role is essential in the furniture manufacturing process, ensuring that fabric pieces are accurately cut to meet production needs.
Responsibilities
- Match pieces of the pattern to fabric for cutting
- Accurately mark patterns on fabric for cutting
- Accurately cut fabric pieces once marked for sewing
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Requirements
- 3+ years of reading and understanding patterns and yardstick measurements
- Must be able to read a ruler
- Must be able to accurately use scissors, both electric and hand scissors
- Must be quality-minded
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to accurately trace and cut patterns
- Must be a team player
- Must be reliable
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision
- Must have your own reliable transportation
- Must be able to work weekends and overtime
- Must have strong communication skills in reading, comprehending, speaking, and writing in English
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in furniture manufacturing preferred
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
