About the position

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting sofas and chairs at various stages of production to ensure that high-quality products are produced. This role involves performing visual inspections of finished products, checking for straight stitches, correct patterns according to production tickets, proper upholstery specifications, and ensuring there are no flaws in the fabric or leather. The inspector will also verify that the legs and finishes of the legs are correct and make repairs as needed. Additionally, the inspector may push pieces back to the upholsterer to correct any identified issues and will perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Responsibilities

• Perform a visual inspection of the finished product to ensure stitches are straight.
• Ensure the pattern is correct according to the production ticket.
• Ensure the piece is upholstered correctly to specifications.
• Ensure there are no holes or flaws in the fabric or leather.
• Ensure legs and finishes of legs are correct.
• Make repairs as needed.
• Push pieces back to upholster to correct issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

• Manufacturing experience is required.
• Must be able to read a ruler and an order ticket.
• Must be able to differentiate finishes of the legs.
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal relationship skills are required.
• Strict attention to detail is a must.
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
• Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours a day.
• Must be reliable.
• Strong English language skills in reading, comprehending, speaking, and writing are required.
• Must be able to wear required safety PPE such as safety glasses and closed-toe/closed-heel shoes.
• Must adhere to all safety policies and procedures to prevent injuries.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in furniture manufacturing is preferred.
