About the position

The Senior Compliance Specialist at TCWGlobal is responsible for overseeing the company's compliance activities, policy development, and legal compliance within the organization. This role involves interacting with clients and employees, managing escalated employee relations, and ensuring adherence to employment laws. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to a culture of growth and community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Research and track changing employment laws in collaboration with the HR Compliance Manager.
  • Serve as the point of contact for Workers Compensation claims received by the Contingent Workforce.
  • Assist the Global Operations team with compliance-related questions and guidance.
  • Support escalated employee relations by conducting formal and informal investigations and providing recommendations.
  • Prepare detailed reports in response to investigations and employee relations compliance issues.
  • Develop and modify company forms and contracts used in business operations.
  • Design and assist in the education and training of managers and departments on regulatory and compliance issues.
  • Assist with Independent Contractor eligibility determinations and compliance management.
  • Mentor other HR Compliance Specialists and provide training to other departments.
  • Assist with legal matters including discovery response and depositions.
  • Assist with state and federal employment reporting, including state pay data reporting and EEO-1 reporting.
  • Manage other compliance projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, Legal, or Compliance/Regulatory roles.
  • Ability to interpret regulations and laws and disseminate information effectively.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills for internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to handle detailed, confidential, and time-sensitive work.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with advanced proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred.
  • Strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude.

  • Paralegal Certificate and/or PHR Certificate preferred.
