About the position

The Test Systems Engineer at Technology Unlimited Group (TUG) will work within a small team to conduct testing, analysis, troubleshooting, and integration of Tactical Data Link (TDL) software systems. This role focuses on ensuring high-quality performance and interoperability of TDL systems through structured testing processes, documentation, and collaboration with government customers. The position offers opportunities for career growth and skill development in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute test scripts for software functionality and interoperability in TDL systems using relevant test tools on Windows and Linux.
  • Implement Microsoft Excel tracking systems to trace and test various requirements with real and simulated equipment.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot software design and code to identify issues and create detailed reports on findings.
  • Document and update test descriptions, procedures, and results in accordance with Data Item Description (DID) standards for acceptance testing events.
  • Participate in Test Readiness Reviews and status reporting briefings for government customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science/Technology discipline.
  • Experience with developing government technical documents including Test Plans, Procedures, and Reports.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with the development and maintenance of System Test Environments.
  • Ability to trace system requirements from customer specifications to test cases.
  • Ability to conduct integration and formal system tests.
  • Experience with Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7+ and/or Ubuntu).
  • Knowledge of Tactical Data Links (TDL) such as Link 11, Link 16, Link 22, or JREAP.
  • Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) Hardware and Software.
  • Knowledge of dynamic (ad hoc) networking environments.
  • Experience with system verification and validation.
  • Experience with Agile software development.

  • Experience with scripting and test automation tools.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Organizational and Leadership skills.
  • Experience with cabling and configuring HF/UHF radio equipment.
  • Experience working with CI/CD tools, including GIT and Jenkins.
