About the position

The Oakland Unified School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated 1st Grade Teacher who is bilingual in Spanish for the 2024-25 school year at Global Family School Elementary. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with students and their families to support their academic and social-emotional growth.
  • Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Professional Learning Communities to share best practices and improve instructional strategies.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the school community through participation in school events and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Eligibility for employment in the US and ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Possession of, or willingness to earn, a California teaching credential authorizing instruction in core curriculum.
