About the position

The Teacher for LOTE Spanish at Cypress Creek High School is responsible for providing students with engaging learning activities and experiences in the Spanish language. The role aims to help students achieve their intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth while developing the necessary competencies to succeed in society. The teacher will implement lesson plans, assess student progress, and maintain a conducive classroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements.
• Prepare lessons that accommodate individual student differences.
• Plan and use appropriate instructional strategies and materials based on students' learning styles.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula for special education students.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
• Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with parents, students, and colleagues.
• Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for the subject and level assigned.
• Demonstrated competency in the academic subject area assigned.
• Knowledge of core academic subjects and curriculum instruction.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in communication skills.
• Knowledge of Spanish.
