About the position

ESL Instructor - This position is for our Auburn Campus. Class will be Mondays/Wednesdays from 6:00pm - 8:30pm. The selected candidate will work from 5:45pm - 8:45pm (6 hours per week). Placer School for Adults is looking for a credentialed teacher with an ESL (English as a Second Language) credential; bilingual is a plus. This course will use the Hyflex model to support in-person and remote students. The course runs from January 22, 2025 - May 21, 2025.

Responsibilities

• Make academic assessments, track progress, and maintain accurate records of student attendance records
• Develop and correct diagnostic tests
• Use effective classroom management and student engagement techniques to support in-person and remote students
• Develop lesson plans to address student needs, including individualized support for assignments
• Provide individual and group instruction in a Hyflex model
• Work cooperatively with other education staff in a PLC model
• Learn and adhere to departmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
• Manage online curriculum software
• Facilitate online learning

Requirements

• Appropriate Valid CA Credential with ESL Authorization
