About the position
The Teacher Aide position at Alternatives for Children is a part-time role focused on supporting Special Education Teachers in providing educational experiences to preschool-aged children with special needs. The aide will work one-on-one with students, assisting them in developing independent dressing skills, participating in structured activities, and implementing educational and therapeutic goals outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Responsibilities
- Assist Special Education Teachers with one-on-one support for students with special needs.
- Help students with independent dressing skills and structured activities.
- Assist with snacks and feeding as needed.
- Implement educational and therapeutic goals set forth by IEP plans.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Experience working with special needs children is a strong plus.
