About the position
The Teacher Aide position at Victor Central School District involves supporting students, particularly those with special education needs, in a collaborative educational environment. - Data Collection
- Feeding or assistance feeding
- General Clerical Assignments
- General Education classroom aide support
- General Supervision - Arrival, Dismissal, Playground, Cafeteria, Transition Times
- General Student Assistance
- Lamination
- Lifting - Unassisted and assisted for school aged children with little ability to manipulate themselves
- Program Aide for specialized services (12:1:1, 12:1:3, 15:1:1, 8:1:1)
- Sensory Breaks
- Test Accommodations
- Material modifications
- Personal Hygiene and/or toiletry
- Maintain Data Security as applicable
- Maintain confidentiality with staff, student and family information
- Operate in a respectful, responsible manner
Requirements
- Effective communication and problem solving skills
- Ability to problem solve in a fast paced work environment
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff in an educational setting
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Qualified to be employed as a teacher aide per Civil Service and NYS Education Department guidelines
- Ability to lift and maneuver children and general classroom supplies
Benefits
- Salary as per the contract between Victor Central Schools and the CSEA Unit
- Starting rate of $15.55 (Negotiable based on experience)
