About the position

The position involves providing differentiated, direct instruction in elementary subject areas through a virtual learning model. The teacher will engage students both synchronously and asynchronously, ensuring alignment with New York State Learning Standards while fostering a productive virtual learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide curriculum instruction, supervision, and evaluation of students in a virtual learning environment in alignment with New York State Learning Standards.
• Utilize appropriate pedagogy and instructional methods to engage students in a virtual setting.
• Communicate with applicable BOCES and local school district administrators to support students in the virtual learning environment.
• Work productively and collaboratively with other virtual faculty, administrators, and parents in BOCES-supported virtual learning programs to build professional capacity.
• Ensure there is a professional visual environment and suitable bandwidth at the location from where the instruction is delivered.
• Engage in professional learning sessions throughout the year.

Requirements

• NYS teaching certificate in Art.
• Experience teaching Art in grades 7-12.
• Experience teaching in a virtual setting preferred.
• Subject to a fingerprint supported criminal history background check.
