About the position

The Art Teacher position at The Leona Group involves providing high-quality instruction to students while collaborating with school leaders, colleagues, and parents to achieve educational goals. Responsibilities

• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and develop rules of behavior.
• Plan a program of study that meets individual student needs and goals.
• Establish clear objectives for lessons and ensure alignment with curriculum standards.
• Develop lesson plans and submit them for review and feedback.
• Participate in ongoing analysis to ensure curriculum alignment with state standards.
• Collaborate with special education staff to implement inclusive approaches for students with special needs.
• Maintain accurate records and confidentiality of student information.
• Communicate with parents and encourage their participation in their child's learning.
• Maintain professional competence through conferences and continuing education.
• Serve as an active member of various school teams and committees.

Requirements

• State teacher licensure/certification with appropriate endorsements.
• Bachelor's degree with subject area emphasis or coursework necessary to be deemed 'highly qualified'.
• Demonstrated commitment to student learning success and achievement.
• Proficiency in teaching or tutoring, with evidence of successful student and parent relations.
