The Teacher Assistant, Bilingual Spanish position at Bowling Green Chacon is a vital role within the Sacramento City Unified School District (SCUSD), which has a long-standing commitment to providing quality education to its diverse student population. The Teacher Assistant will work closely with teachers to facilitate learning and provide assistance to students in various classroom settings. As a Teacher Assistant, you will be responsible for helping to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. The position is part-time, requiring approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes of work each day from Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students in an organized setting and will be able to demonstrate proficiency in both English and Spanish through language tests. Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students who require additional help.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school.
  • One year of experience working with individuals or students in an organized setting.
  • Experience working with people of various cultures.
  • Completion of at least two years of study (48 semester units) in an institution of higher education, or an associate's degree, or passing the district paraprofessional test, or being No Child Left Behind (NCLB) compliant.
  • For Teacher Assistant Bilingual II: Must have served 75% or more of the school year as a Teacher Assistant Bilingual I and completed 90 accredited units of college-level work.
  • For Teacher Candidate Bilingual: Requires a minimum of 120 college units, served as a Teacher Assistant Bilingual II for the preceding two years at least 75% of the school year, and proof of current enrollment in subjects leading to a bachelor's degree and/or teaching credential.
  • Pass language tests to demonstrate proficiency in English and Spanish.
