About The Position

As a Teacher Assistant at Devereux, you will have the opportunity to work with children in an educational environment that focuses on the most current treatment interventions in the area of Autism. You will join a multi-disciplinary team that emphasizes a strengths-based approach, applied behavior analysis, and positive behavior supports. This position is a year-round role, Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4 pm, where you will collaborate with dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; Bachelor's degree in Special Education preferred
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders preferred

Responsibilities

• Ensure student safety
• Assist in establishing classroom environments conducive to maximum learning by maintaining structure and guiding students to socially appropriate behaviors
• Work with Special Education Teachers to implement skill acquisition and behavioral reduction programs individually and in small groups
• Perform ongoing data collection and record keeping as directed by Special Education Teacher
• Support and reinforce PBIS goals and objectives
