About the position

Bambini Montessori Academy is seeking a dedicated Infant Teacher's Assistant to join our team in Ellicott City, MD. This position is essential in providing high-quality care and education to infants and toddlers aged 6 weeks to 5 years. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and presenting age-appropriate activities that foster the social, emotional, and intellectual development of children. The role requires a commitment to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child can thrive. As an Infant Teacher's Assistant, you will work closely with lead teachers to implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets the needs of each child. You will engage in various activities that promote learning through play, ensuring that each child receives the attention and support they need to grow. This position also involves maintaining a safe and clean classroom environment, communicating effectively with parents and guardians, and participating in ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge in early childhood education. Responsibilities

  • Plan and present age-appropriate activities for infants and toddlers.
  • Assist lead teachers in implementing the curriculum.
  • Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
  • Support children's social, emotional, and intellectual development.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • 45 hours of Child Growth and Development training.
  • 45 hours in Preschool Curriculum training.
  • 45 hours Infant-Toddler Certificate.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with infants in a licensed childcare facility or 30 college credits.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various stages of social, emotional, and intellectual development.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, squat, jump, dance, walk, run, reach, carry, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Development or related field (preferred).
