About the position

The Teacher Assistant for Pre-K is responsible for supporting the Head Start, Pre-K, or Pre-School ESE Teacher in daily classroom activities. This role is essential in fostering a positive learning environment for young children and assisting in their educational development.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Start, Pre-K, or Pre-School ESE Teacher with day-to-day classroom activities.
• Support the instruction of reading/language arts, writing, and mathematics readiness.
• Help maintain a safe and engaging classroom environment.
• Participate in the planning and implementation of educational activities.
• Assist in the assessment of student progress and needs.

Requirements

• An earned Associates degree from an accredited institution, OR at least 60 semester hours of earned college credit from an accredited institution, OR a standard high school diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of the Teacher Assisting Curriculum at the designated technical center in the Broward County School District.
• Passing score on the ParaPro Test or other officially sanctioned standard tests to demonstrate instructional ability.
• Computer skills as required for the position.
