About The Position

We are currently seeking a few exceptional people who have a passion to make a meaningful impact by facilitating the lives of the amazing people we support. The Children's Services of ACLD provides a continuum of services to children from ages three to twenty-one in their pre-school and after-school programs. We currently have an opportunity for a Teacher Assistant to join our Bay Shore Facility. In this role, you will assist classroom staff with all classroom related duties and serve as an active facilitator of children's educational and behavioral goals by role modeling and interacting with students as part of a trans-disciplinary team. You will provide educational intervention, under the direction of the special education teacher, to help each child reach their highest level of independence.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year experience working with children in a classroom or childcare environment.
• Ability to work with and supervise children in various educational settings.
• Must be at least 18 years of age to supervise children independently.
• Physically able to handle all aspects of supervision of preschoolers, including running, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual preferred.
• ABA experience preferred.

Responsibilities
