About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our educational team at All About Me Childcare Center. The ideal candidate will support classroom activities and assist in the development of students' academic and social skills, particularly for students with diverse needs. This role is essential in creating a nurturing environment that fosters learning and growth.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities.
• Provide individualized support to students, including those with special education needs.
• Supervise students during classroom activities, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment.
• Help manage classroom behavior and promote positive interactions among students.
• Support students in daily routines, including infant care, toddler care, and preschool activities.
• Collaborate with teachers to assess student progress and adapt instructional strategies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom space conducive to learning.
• Participate in training sessions related to first aid, childcare, and special education practices.

Requirements

• Experience working with students in daycare, preschool, or similar settings.
• Knowledge of special education practices and strategies for working with individuals with disabilities.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to educate and engage children of various age groups, including infants and toddlers.
• Familiarity with first aid procedures to ensure student safety.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
• Strong organizational skills to assist in maintaining classroom order.

Nice-to-haves

• Teaching experience: 3 years (Preferred)
• Childcare experience: 1 year (Preferred)
• Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
