About the position

The Guild for Human Services is dedicated to educating, encouraging, and empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities, enabling them to achieve their full potential and participate meaningfully in the community. As part of our workforce, you will join a team of creative, dedicated, and passionate employees who work daily to enhance the lives of youth and adults facing intellectual disabilities and other challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Implement student individualized behavior treatment plan and record data
  • Recommend and/or participate in the development and implementation of specific communication and behavior management programs for selected assigned students
  • Provide supervision/monitoring of students during breaks, lunches, community trips and other times as assigned/necessary
  • Maintain effective and ongoing contact with other day and residential staff to ensure continuity and consistency of programming for assigned students
  • Work as a member of a team to maintain a clean, safe, positive learning environment for each individual
  • Assist students in acquisition of self-care skills when necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor preferred
  • Training or experience teaching skills to students who have mental health diagnoses and/or developmental disabilities
  • A valid driver's license
  • Must meet Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI)
  • Reliable transportation to residential homes located in Massachusetts
  • Physical and mental capacity to work in stressful situations and de-escalate individuals who have limited cognition and complex needs.
