About the position
The Teacher, Autism position at the Riverside County Office of Education focuses on developing the success of special education students in academics, interpersonal skills, and daily living activities. The role involves implementing district-approved curriculum, documenting student progress, addressing individual needs, and providing a safe learning environment while communicating effectively with students, parents, and administration regarding progress and goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement district-approved curriculum for special education students.
- Document teaching and student progress, including activities and outcomes.
- Address specific needs of students to support their learning and development.
- Provide a safe and optimal learning environment for students.
- Communicate feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding student progress and expectations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university required; Master's Degree desirable.
- Possession of a valid California Moderate/Severe Education Specialist or equivalent Special Education teaching credential.
- CTEL Certification or EL equivalent such as CLAD, BCLAD, or SDAIE.
- Verification of meeting the Basic Skills Requirement if applicable.
- Compliance with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) at the secondary level in Math, Science, English, and Social Science within one year of employment.
- Valid California Driver's License.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Additional certifications in special education or related fields.
