About the position

The Teacher - Behavior Interventionist K-5 position is a full-time leave replacement role at Lowell Elementary, focusing on providing intervention support to elementary school students. The role aims to address behavioral challenges and support students' educational needs in a structured environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide intervention support to K-5 students with behavioral challenges.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a positive learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student behavior and progress.

Requirements

  • Valid teaching certification in Washington State.
  • Experience working with elementary school students, particularly those with behavioral needs.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective intervention strategies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in special education or behavior intervention programs.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices.
  • Familiarity with the Washington State Health Care Authority's SEBB Program.
