About the position
The Teacher - Behavior Interventionist K-5 position is a full-time leave replacement role at Lowell Elementary, focusing on providing intervention support to elementary school students. The role aims to address behavioral challenges and support students' educational needs in a structured environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide intervention support to K-5 students with behavioral challenges.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a positive learning environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student behavior and progress.
Requirements
- Valid teaching certification in Washington State.
- Experience working with elementary school students, particularly those with behavioral needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to develop and implement effective intervention strategies.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in special education or behavior intervention programs.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices.
- Familiarity with the Washington State Health Care Authority's SEBB Program.
