About the position

The CDC Teacher is responsible for providing a stimulating, safe, and developmentally appropriate educational environment where infant and preschool children have the opportunity to develop cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills. The teacher develops and implements daily lesson plans for early childhood education classrooms, leads and supervises infant and preschool Associate Teachers in curriculum, classroom environment, and parent relationships. The teacher also maintains classroom records, including the assessment of children and the collection of data necessary for the evaluation of early childhood education programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a stimulating and safe educational environment for infants and preschool children.
  • Develop and implement daily lesson plans for early childhood education classrooms.
  • Lead and supervise infant and preschool Associate Teachers in curriculum and classroom environment.
  • Maintain classroom records, including assessments of children.
  • Collect data necessary for the evaluation of early childhood education programs.

Requirements

  • 175 days of 3+ hours per day within 4 years of experience.
  • Experience coaching and training staff members and leading a classroom.
  • Experience working with diverse cultures.
  • 24 units ECE/CD including core courses and 16 GE units OR AA or higher in ECE/CD or related field with 3 units supervised field experience in ECE/CD setting.
  • Infant/Toddler teachers need to have taken 6 Infant/Toddler Units.
  • BLS, CPR and First Aid Certification card.
