About the position

The Assistant Director of Early Childhood Education at The Angels Child Development Center plays a crucial role in fostering a Christian environment while supporting the Lead Teacher in managing staff and guiding educational activities. This position emphasizes bilingual communication in English and Spanish, ensuring a nurturing and safe atmosphere for children and their families. The Assistant Director is responsible for maintaining compliance with licensing standards, coordinating curriculum, and promoting developmental milestones through play-based learning.

Responsibilities

• Support the Center Director in leading and managing staff.
• Foster a Christian environment through daily prayer and service.
• Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and children in both English and Spanish.
• Keep accurate documentation of children and activities.
• Assist with coordinating monthly classroom curriculums.
• Support teachers in adhering to Illinois DCFS Licensing Standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience working with children in a teaching or assistant position.
• CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with children and adults.
• Organizational and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Experience with behavioral therapy techniques.
• Knowledge of Microsoft and Google applications.
