About the position

The Sacramento City Unified School District (SCUSD) is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to fill the position of Teacher for the 6th Grade Dual Language program at Cesar Chavez Intermediate. This role is pivotal in shaping the educational experiences of students in a diverse and dynamic learning environment. As a teacher in this program, you will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive curriculum that not only meets state educational standards but also fosters bilingualism and biliteracy among students. The dual language program is designed to promote academic achievement while developing proficiency in both English and Spanish, preparing students for a globalized world. Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective instruction in both English and Spanish to 6th-grade students.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards and promote bilingualism.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress and provide feedback to students and parents.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance the educational experience for students.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance and classroom activities.

Requirements

  • Multiple Subject Teaching Credential - General Subjects (with BCLAD in Spanish required).
