About the position

The Long-Term Substitute Teacher for Kindergarten at J.X. Wilson Elementary School is responsible for providing instructional support and maintaining a positive learning environment for students during the absence of the regular teacher. This position is temporary, spanning from January 6, 2025, to May 2, 2025, and includes specific pay rates based on the number of consecutive days worked. The role requires a valid Multiple Subject Credential with ELL authorization or equivalent qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and support to Kindergarten students in accordance with the curriculum.
• Maintain classroom management and a positive learning environment.
• Implement lesson plans and adapt them as necessary to meet the needs of students.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Participate in training and professional development as required.

Requirements

• Possession of a Multiple Subject Credential with ELL authorization or equivalent.
• Completion of a baccalaureate degree or higher from a regionally-accredited college or university.
• Successful completion of an initial 45 hours of TPSL preparation.
• Completion of coursework in specified subject areas or passage of subject matter examinations for the Multiple Subject Credential.
