About the position

The Teacher of Foreign Language - Spanish is responsible for providing effective instruction in the Spanish language to students, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in a diverse and changing global community. This part-time position involves developing lesson plans, differentiating instruction, and engaging with parents and the community to support student learning and development.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective instruction in Spanish using the Danielson Rubric and differentiate instruction to meet student needs.
• Teach the required curriculum and administer common assessments while monitoring student progress.
• Develop detailed lesson plans and provide appropriate educational activities for all students, including those with special needs.
• Utilize best classroom management practices to create a conducive learning environment.
• Collaborate with special education staff to implement individualized education programs (IEPs) and accommodations.
• Participate in professional development and implement learned strategies with fidelity.
• Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress and participate in parent meetings.
• Contribute to community service and global citizenship goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• Current appropriate Michigan teaching certification and endorsement in Spanish.
